WHERE TO GET SCHOLARSHIP

It is a good thing for people to look for scholarships in their home country. Useful Information on scholarship can be found by asking local persons and organizations. Below are some ways you can get scholarship internationally.


1. Labour unions: Labour union is another place you can get scholarship and grants. The main labour unions provide grants and scholarships for members who had been with them for some time and their needy offspring.



2. School: Old, well-known schools have often been endowed with scholarship funds. These schools have made it a rule for students who have past out and are now working in good position in the country and those who have their own business to be meeting annually to discuss things for the betterment of the school and also to make fund to help brilliant student in the school who don’t have money to continue their education.


3. Community foundations: Nearly all fatherland / metropolis / district have a local centre that is devoted to handing over money in the form of scholarships and grant to those in need in that area. You should enquire from the community centre close to you if they offer such services.



4. Guidance counsellors: If you are in high or secondary school and you are looking for scholarship opportunities, it is better for you to first of all ask your guidance counsellor. They can be a great help in obtaining local, state, national and at times international Scholarships


5. Houses of worship (church, mosque e.t.c): The house of worship is a great place you can get some grants and scholarship too. They give money to their members from time to time to help those who are very brilliant but don’t have the money to further their education or project. They do this because if the child is good it is still their child. It is religious organization or headquarters that provide majority of these services while the local ones contribute only a little.



6. PSAT/NMSQT: In United States, students are presented with the opportunity to do the PSAT/NMSQT examination test, by and large in their junior year of high school. It help them to prepare ahead for the SAT later on, and also National Merit Scholarship programs are determined, in the first step, by the scores received on the PSAT/NMSQT test. A few private scholarship programs require the applicants to take the PSAT.



7. Libraries: The libraries are great sources to get many lists of names of where to get scholarships and grants from both local, states, national and international.



8. Non-profit organizations: Many non-profit organizations, from time to time give scholarship to student. This is done particularly for people who are closely affiliated to them. This opportunity is rarely pass on to the general public. This scholarship is base on certain criteria which the prospective student must meet first before the scholarship is awarded to him/her.



9. University: that are well-established may have financial reserve store purposely to finance the studies of talented students that do not have money to continue their education.


10. Chamber of commerce: Do you know that many chambers of commerce can offer you small grants to students in the neighbourhood. They give to those forecasting on careers in business and also in public service. You can also get a list of many members from them, and many of these members may give small grants or scholarships to local students.



11. SAT: Sat is a worldwide examination that offer students grant and scholarship to student in any university in Europe. Once every year student from all part of the world sat for this examination in their country and anyone who pass will be given the go ahead to leave his country to study abroad for free by the organisation that is sponsoring the individual. But if you are living in an area where the school is, then you do not need to travel again but to stay there and school with scholarship or grant.



12. Other volunteer organizations: Many organizations offer scholarships or award grants to students whose background or chosen field overlaps the field of the organization. For example, local chapters of professional societies may help the studies of exceptionally distinguished students of the region. Similarly, charity organizations may offer help, especially if the late parent of the student was a member of the organization (e.g., a Masonic lodge might help the orphan of a lodge brother.) However, this kind of scholarship is mostly random.
